You can turn any MBOX file into a PDF in a few clicks. Open it in readmbox.com and export to PDF. You get a clean archive with a cover sheet, page numbers, and each email starting on its own page. That's ideal for printing, filing, or sending to a lawyer or accountant.
Step 1: Get your MBOX file
If your email is in Gmail, export it with Google Takeout:
- Go to takeout.google.com.
- Click Deselect all, then scroll down to Mail and check it.
- Click Next step, set the file size to 50 GB to get one file, and click Create export.
- When Google emails you, download the ZIP and double-click it to unzip. Your .mbox file is inside.
Already have an .mbox file from Thunderbird or Apple Mail? Skip to Step 2.
Step 2: Open the MBOX file in readmbox.com
Go to readmbox.com and click Choose an .mbox file. Pick your file and all your emails open in the browser.
It's private: your MBOX file stays on your computer and is never sent to any server.
Step 3: Export to PDF
Use the search and date filters to narrow down to the emails you need. Then click Export and choose PDF.
Your PDF downloads with a cover sheet and page numbers, and each email starts on its own page.
That's it
No software to install, and your email never leaves your computer. Try it at readmbox.com.
